Ray Person
Ray D. Person, Jr. is a first generation Aggie from Bryan, TX. He has worked in higher education for approximately 10 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences from Texas A&M University. In addition, he holds a master’s degree in Natural Resource Management from North Carolina State University. Lastly, he also holds an Executive Education Leadership certification from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.
From 2011 to 2016, he worked as a Senior Program Coordinator for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Office of Admissions for Texas A&M University. He provided admissions and financial aid assistance to 65+ public and private schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Additionally, he coordinated and facilitated a number of recruitment programs to increase diversity at Texas A&M University. Notably, he was a recipient of the Dean’s Outstanding Award for Recruitment in Diversity back in 2014. Today, he serves as an Assistant Director of Admission at Texas Christian University (TCU).
Ray is passionate about student success in higher education. His passion has been influenced by a number of mentors, who have instilled a sense of courage, passion, self-confidence, and resiliency in him both as a student and professional.
